3G Cardio Elite Runner Review

Editor's Rating: 8.9 /10

As the top model in the 3G Cardio Series of treadmills, retailing for just under $4,000, the Elite Runner is designed with a high performance 4.0HP DC motor and large 3″ rollers for an incredibly quiet, smooth operation. And for comfort, this model was equipped with an advanced Ortho Flex Shock(TM) Suspension System and a spacious running area of 22″ x 62″, well above the average dimensions.

When it comes to performance features, users can easily incline to 15% and run speeds up to 12 mph, all of which can be controlled via the console using the speed/incline keys or the One Touch controls. The console on this model is the same console on the model just under this one; the Pro Runner. The display area is broken into three screens that include a heart rate tracker (to keep track of what zone you are working in to achieve desired results), an LCD dot matrix track to track distance, and a workout matrix screen that displays information like speed, distance, calories burned, etc. This model features 8 built-in workout programs, two custom programs, and three fitness test programs. In addition, this model is equipped with both contact grip and wireless heart rate monitoring capabilities, with receiver included.

The Elite Runner treadmill comes with a residential warranty of 2 years on labor, 10 years on parts and lifetime coverage on the frame and motor. The commercial warranty covers 5 years on the frame and motor, 2 years on parts and 1 year on labor.

What We Don’t Like:

  • Price: This model is pretty pricey considering the lack of entertainment options and minimalistic console area.
  • Entertainment Options: Lacking entertainment options/web-enabled or Bluetooth enabled console is a define criticism of this model.
  • Display Area: The screen dimensions are not disclosed, but from what we can see, it looks like very small display screens, which can be an issue when trying to keep track of your workout stats. It also takes away from the overall appearance of the console area.

Our Verdict:

The Elite Runner treadmill is a well-made piece of equipment that is more like something you would find in a gym rather than at home. You can easily save over $1,000 and go with the Pro Runner model, but the durability and stability of this elite model is well worth the money. The console on this model is also equipped with audio capabilities while the other models are not.
