I have to admit, I’m a bit of an Amazon.com addict and find myself buying everything there from edamame beans and beef jerky to sport coats. But some folks might not realize that some of the best treadmills on the market today are also available on Amazon.com. Whether new or used, this online venue is definitely a major player in all things fitness.

Shopping online for fitness equipment makes it simple to explore scores of options with efficiency, but you have to be careful. I run into a lot of treadmill shoppers who want that sweet spot between budget-friendly under-$1,000 models and the upper crust. If you don’t want to drop a couple grand on a treadmill, don’t feel lonely. The XTERRA brand is built for you, and not just when it comes to treadmills by the way. Often considered a discount brand, these models are solid and bring performance. The XTERRA TRX4500 stands out in the crowd here. A top-of-the-line in a discount series, its generous 20 x 60-inch belt offers plenty of room for walkers and runners alike. A huge plus in my book is the whopping 30 built-in exercise programs you’ll get with this machine. These days treadmills are coming with fewer built-in workouts and more access to streaming programs. If you want a machine that comes ready to work with or without the extras, this is a pick.

But, since it is Bluetooth-enabled, you can connect the XTERRA TRX4500 with your Android or iOS to pair with the free XTERRA Fitness tracking app or others including Fitbit and iPhone’s built-in iHealth app. It also comes with a wireless heartrate strap. Given its incline potential of 15% and speed up to 12 miles per hour, there’s little you can’t do irrespective of your fitness level. I’ve never failed to break a sweat at even 5% incline and 3-4 miles an hour. There are a lot of options here for under $1,600, but you will notice there’s no giant screen, just a simple LED read-out.

According to research by Stanford, 42% of the US labor force now works from home. This would include me, and I love it. Home fitness has been a staple of my life for years and I’m not sure I could stand going without it. If you’re looking for a great Amazon home office treadmill for less than a new sport coat, the Goplus 2-in-1 folding treadmill is worth a look. It’s definitely one of the best units under $300 I’ve seen. This is one of those under-the-desk models that can be broken down to just a simple deck. It’s great to slide around the office and, if you have a standing desk, you can even walk and talk or write.

This Goplus option includes all the primary features you look for in a home office treadmill, and all for less than $500. Obviously, this is not for running marathons. That said, serious fitness buffs need their workouts. You can max up to 7.5 miles per hour which is plenty for walking, and it does hold up to 265 pounds. It does feature Bluetooth speakers, an app and remote control.

Measuring 84″ in length with a 22″ x 62″ belt, as opposed to just 60″, you’ll definitely appreciate this if you like to stride out. Tall runners naturally have a longer stride. Ergo, they need more space, and the 3G Cardio Elite Runner meets that demand. It’s equipped with all the features a taller runner would need including an advanced Ortho Flex Shock(TM) Suspension System for maximum comfort and 3-inch rollers for a smooth run every time. This does come at a price in terms of size and bucks. This machine weighs 386 pounds and is built to last. The fact that it has 3-inch rollers tells you it’s for real and won’t break down any time soon, like models with rollers under 1.5 inches. A couple things I look for when judging longevity in treadmills is machine weight, roller size and weight capacity. And this one checks all boxes. Of course at a price of $3,999 that’s what you’d expect.

You certainly get what you pay for, and 3G Cardio goes all-out with this high-end product. If you’re a fan of preset workouts that take the stress out of exercise planning, the Elite Runner features eight built-in programs. Tall runners often weigh more, and the Elite Runner has you covered with a weight capacity of 400 pounds. Its tri-split display screen includes a convenient heart rate tracker to help you achieve precise heart rate training. All the while, important stats like calories burned, distance, and speed are all being tracked.

I’m always impressed with lifetime warranties because it says the company puts money in the machine. This foldable treadmill can support up to 325 pounds, has a 3.0 HP motor and a 20″ x 60″ running surface. Built-in heart rate sensors in the handles, the machine also integrates easily with chest sensors.
